All I want for Christmas is.....
I’ve been giving a lot of thought to my Christmas list for this year. I know you’re receiving this December 22 and that may be kind of late. You’ll probably have to pay a lot of additional dollars to get something to me in just three more days. But, remember it is more blessed to give than to receive and a few extra bucks to make sure I have a Merry Christmas on your money is a good thing to do.
Actually, my list for this year is pretty reasonable.
I want everyone to receive new masks from Santa.
I want everyone to wear those nice new masks.
I want everyone to remain socially distanced.
I want everyone to have high-powered soap to wash their hands.
I want everyone to get vaccinated when it’s their turn.
And, I want no more talk about stolen elections.
If you want to make me happy this year, that’s my list. The only other thing I might possibly want is cash. I am always open to that.
What really gets me excited is Christmas 2021. I want to be the first to share my list for a year from now. I have a better chance of getting these gifts if I’m not late in asking like I am this year. So, here is the 2021 list.
A family holiday dinner without social distancing.
Not a single TV story about a rising number of COVID cases. Not one.
No need to go into a bank with a mask on to demand money.
No fear of hugging my kids and grandkids.
A full year when I never have to wash my hands. Never.
Permission to go to large gatherings and not feel guilty.
A court order preventing use of the term super spreader.
Ditto for the term social distancing.
Double ditto for the word hoax.
No empty shelves for paper products in grocery stores.
Permission to sneeze without thinking I just killed someone.
And, of course the old standby -- cash. Preferably unmarked bills.
If you prefer to make a pledge of cash due in 2022, that will be o.k.
I hope the only thing any of us catch in 2021 is the spirit of Christmas and that we share that far and wide all year long.
That’s my list for a year from now. In the meantime, put a smile on your face for Holidays 2020. Remind yourself, it could be a whole lot worse. If you’re reading this, you’re still on the right side of the grass.

I will be so glad not to see people receiving their injections on TV. The needles today make it so it does not hurt, but I cannot stand seeing the needle go into other people's arms. That will hopefully be over with by December 2021!
